WHY IS TURKISH COTTON BETTER THAN MICROFIBRE?

Why is Turkish Cotton better than micro fibre?
This is a question we're often asked and there are so many reasons!

  1. Absorbency: Turkish cotton is known for its exceptional absorbency. Its long natural fibres create space between the threads, allowing it to absorb and hold more moisture. Microfibre on the other hand is a synthetic composition and is not often as absorbent as cotton. Have you ever noticed when using a microfibre towel you just kind of push the water around on your skin, but it doesn't actually absorb it? Annoying right!

  2. Softness: Turkish cotton is well known for its softness and luxurious feel. The long fibres of Turkish cotton make it smooth and comfortable against the skin. Microfibre can be soft, but its texture can vary depending on the quality.
  3. Durability: Turkish cotton is generally considered more durable than microfibre. With proper care, Turkish cotton products can withstand frequent use, washing, and drying, while maintaining their quality over time.

  4. Breathability: Turkish cotton is a natural fibre that allows air to circulate, promoting breathability. This can help regulate body temperature and prevent overheating. Microfibre is a synthetic material that does not provide the same level of breathability. It may trap heat and moisture, potentially leading to a less comfortable experience, particularly in warmer climates or during physical activities.

  5. Eco-friendliness: Turkish cotton is a renewable and biodegradable material since it comes from natural plant fibres. On the other hand, microfibre is typically made from synthetic materials such as polyester or nylon, which are derived from petroleum-based sources. Microfibre can shed tiny plastic particles called micro plastics during washing, which can have negative environmental impacts.
